What is the aftercare for SQT?

  • (DAY 0) Do not wash or touch your face on the day of your SQT treatment.
  • To alleviate itchiness and calm inflammation, spray your skin with the Circadia Blueberry & White Tea Calming Mist every 30 minutes.
  • Only apply the Recovery Serum in the evening following your SQT treatment. (Day 0)
  • (Days 1 & 2), splash your face with lukewarm water (no cleanser) and apply your aftercare serum/cream twice daily in a gentle patting motion.
  • Use a clean towel and PAT dry face. Please do NOT RUB face!
  • (DAY 3) Once peeling/flaking starts around Day 3, avoid picking and pulling off the dead skin as this can cause scarring and infection.Avoid complete sun exposure (and sunscreen) for the first 3 days.
  • (DAY 3 TO 5) You can start using a mild and gentle cleanser and mild moisturiser. Please avoid products containing chemicals, fruit acids, retinol, exfoliants, alcohol, etc.
  • (DAY 7) You can begin using active ingredients from day 7 onward.

SQT Bio-Microneedling does not contain any acid ingredients as it’s not a chemical peeling treatment.

Can I have this treatment if Pregnant or breastfeeding?

SQT Bio microneedling does not use chemicals or devices that can cause harm to the mother or child. It is all-natural.

Does SQT treatment hurt or require numbing?

No numbing required and it feels itchy but does not hurt.

Does the skin peel after a treatment?

Skin peeling is a natural occurrence following a SQT Bio-Microneedling treatment, because it expediates the skin renewal cycle from 28 days to 7 days.

Can SQT Bio-Microneedling be combined with glycolic acid peeling or Alpha Hydroxy Acid products?

We do not recommend any other skin peeling treatments in conjunction with SQT Bio-Microneedling. It is advised that you wait 4 weeks between another peeling service and SQT Bio-Microneedling.

How many treatments will I need?

Depending on the specific skin condition. 3 x treatments are recommended. If more severe skin issues deeper pigmentation, then 5-6 treatments may be required.

What does the Treatment involve?

During each session, millions of natural spicules are gently massaged into the skin using a precise, manual technique. The sensation of a deep exfoliation with a mild tingling feeling as the treatment activates the skin’s natural repair response. Post-treatment, the skin may appear slightly flushed—similar to light sun exposure. Mild shedding is common between days one and three, revealing fresher, healthier skin beneath. Over the following four to six weeks, collagen production accelerates, visibly improving skin texture, tone, and overall radiance

What is the After Treatment downtime?

Flaking or peeling may occur around 3 to 5 days , depending on the level of penetration and skin condition. It’s important to note that not everyone will experience peeling after treatment, which doesn’t indicate a lack of effectiveness; rather, it may suggest that the skin is regenerating more rapidly.
Spongilla spicules are not absorbed by the skin but can remain for approximately 48 to 72 hours. They will feel prickly if skin is touched. After this period, they will be shed along with the stratum corneum that has sloughed off.

Unlike chemical peels and herbal peels, SQT® spongilla spicules therapy has NO SIDE EFFECTS and is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types . This is because its ingredients are entirely natural and free from acids or harmful components.

Is the SQT facial painful?

As the sponge spicules penetrate the Dermis it can be an uncomfortable prickly feeling. Much less than skin needling. Over the next 72 hours, these spicules will naturally shed from the skin. During this period, your skin may appear slightly red, dry, flaky, and tender. However, once this recovery phase is complete, any discomfort will disappear.
